Malcolm X background

Malcolm X

Malcolm X's life story unfolds as a former petty criminal transforms into a powerful Black Nationalist leader within the Nation of Islam, ultimately facing a devastating fate.

Malcolm X, a renowned African American leader, was born Malcolm Little. After his father's murder by Elijah Muhammad, Malcolm became involved in gang activity. While in prison, he discovered Nation of Islam writings by Elijah Muhammad, which led him to preach the teachings upon his release. Later, he made a pilgrimage to Mecca, converted to Sunni Islam, and changed his name to El-Hajj Malik Al-Shabazz. Malcolm X was assassinated on February 21, 1965.
