Theresa Randle, born in 1964 in Gary, Indiana, began her journey in the entertainment industry by studying dance, including traditional, modern, and jazz styles, as well as comedy. Her early education took place at Beverly Hills High School, where she was part of a special program for exceptionally gifted students.
Upon completing her education, Randle landed her first role at the Los Angeles Inner City Cultural Center, followed by appearances in commercials. Her stage presence was also showcased in various productions, including "In Command of the Children", "Sonata", "6 Parts of Musical Broadway", and "Fight the Good Fight".
In 1987, Randle secured her first major film break with Maid to Order, marking the beginning of her transition to the big screen. Over the next three years, she appeared in small roles in films such as Easy Wheels (1989) and Heart Condition (1990),alongside Denzel Washington. Her career continued to flourish as she worked with renowned directors like Abel Ferrara and Spike Lee, featuring in King of New York (1990),Jungle Fever (1991),and Malcolm X (1992).
Randle's breakthrough role came in 1995 with starring parts in Beverly Hills Cop III (1994) and Bad Boys (1995),alongside Will Smith. In 1996, she earned her first leading role in Spike Lee's Girl 6, playing a young, out-of-work actress drawn into the dark world of phone sex.
Throughout her career, Randle has also appeared in notable films such as Space Jam (1996),alongside Michael Jordan and classic Warner Bros. cartoon characters, and the film adaptation of the comic strip Spawn (1997),featuring Martin Sheen.
