She completed her academic pursuits by earning a degree from Spelman College, a prestigious institution of higher learning located in the vibrant city of Atlanta, Georgia, in the year 1971. During her time as a student at Spelman, an esteemed all-female institution, she had the pleasure of encountering Samuel L. Jackson, a talented individual who was pursuing his education at Morehouse College, the esteemed all-male institution affiliated with Spelman. Little did she know at the time, this chance encounter would blossom into a lifelong partnership, with the two eventually tying the knot and starting a family.
