Four teenage friends from Harlem, Q, Bishop, Raheem, and Steel, decide to play hooky one day, only to discover that a former acquaintance was killed in a shootout at a local bar. Following this incident, Bishop shares his concerns with his friends, suggesting they lack respect and influence. In a bid to gain some, they decide to rob a nearby convenience store, but the situation quickly spirals out of control.
