Biography

Gareth Williams' illustrious career spans over four decades, with his Equity Card earned in 1981 in a production of "Little Mary Sunshine" at the Burt Reynolds' Theatre in Jupiter, Florida.

Studying with Charles Nelson Reilly, Gareth was encouraged to move to New York City to hone his craft at HB Studios under the guidance of the legendary Uta Hagen, a mentorship that lasted for six years.

As a founding member of the Naked Angels Theatre Company in New York City, Gareth collaborated with esteemed actors such as Laurence Fishburne, Marisa Tomei, Lili Taylor, James Gandolfini, Paul Giamatti, and Matthew Broderick, among others.

Throughout his career, Gareth has been involved in various world premieres of plays, including Beth Henley's "Signature" at The Actor's Gang, Richard Greenberg's "Hurrah At Last" at South Coast Repertory, and "The Last Vig", starring Burt Young.

On the West Coast, he has appeared in the premieres of Warren Leight's "Side Man" with Mare Winningham at Pasadena Playhouse and Keith Curran's "The Stand In" with Kristen Johnston.

In recent years, Gareth has made a mark in film, starring in "Summer Someday" opposite Greg Finley and Kirk Fox, "Gutterbee" opposite Ewen Bremner and W Earl Brown, and co-starring in "Love After Love" opposite Andie MacDowell, playing her husband alongside Chris O'Dowd, as well as Mike Mills' "20th Century Women" opposite Annette Bening and Greta Gerwig.

Gareth's extensive television credits include recurring roles on Netflix's "Mindhunter" for David Fincher and HBO's "True Detective" for three episodes opposite Oscar winner Mahershala Ali.

Other notable TV credits include "This Is Us", "Masters Of Sex", "The Shield", "Deadwood", "The Mentalist", "CSI: NY", "Law & Order: LA", "Castle", "Mad Men", "Criminal Minds", "Numb3rs", "Judging Amy", and "CSI: Miami", dating back to 1994 in "Homicide: Life On The Street".

Five years ago, Gareth founded the production company Detroit Street Films, focusing on micro-budget, short films. The company has since produced over twenty short films, several of which have been accepted into and won awards in film festivals across the country.

Represented by Stewart Talent and Endorse Management Group in Los Angeles, Gareth continues to be a prominent figure in the entertainment industry.
