Next person biography:
Richter's journey in the entertainment industry began at a remarkably young age, with his first radio performances taking place when he was just eight years old. By 1959, he had already started to make a name for himself as an actor on the stage of the Berlin Renaissance Theater, and his early success led to him working on over 30 radio plays by the time he was just ten years old. This early start in the industry also saw him release his first record, as well as appear in his first television and cinema films.
As he entered his teenage years, Richter began to make a name for himself as a presenter, starting at the age of 16 with the TV show "4-3-2-1 Hot & Sweet". He went on to drop out of school and become increasingly involved in the industry, taking on roles as an actor, screenwriter, and presenter. Over the next few years, Richter appeared in around 20 films, sharing the screen with notable colleagues such as Theo Lingen, Rudi Carrell, and Hansi Kraus.
In 1971, Richter's career took a significant turn with the launch of the music show "Disco", which was broadcast on ZDF. The show proved to be a huge ratings hit, and in 1975, it was moved to the station's Saturday evening schedule. During this time, Richter was in a relationship with the singer Marianne Rosenberg, which lasted from 1975 to 1978.
Thanks to Richter's humorous moderation and the colorful mix of hit and pop music, "Disco" became a television event that attracted impressive ratings from young and old. Over the course of its 133 episodes, Richter became a household name in Germany, and his show became synonymous with fun and entertainment.
After leaving the show in 1982, Richter continued to work as an actor, appearing in TV series such as "Three Ladies from the Grill" in 1989. However, it wasn't until the early 1990s that he found new recognition as an actor and author.
In 1999, Richter published his autobiography, titled "Spot off. Lights on - My Story", and in 2002, he celebrated his 40th stage anniversary. The same year, he appeared on stage with the Georg Kreisler program. Richter's personal life also took a significant turn in the early 2000s, as he became a father in 2001.
