Cristo Fernández is a multifaceted individual, born in Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico. Prior to his illustrious career in acting and filmmaking, Fernández pursued a professional life as a soccer player. However, due to physical injuries, he was compelled to explore alternative passions and redirected his path.
After completing a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications at UNIVA GDL, Fernández began actively engaging in creative outlets and a career as an actor and filmmaker. He furthered his studies in London, earning a master's degree from the Guildford School of Acting at the University of Surrey.
Fernández's determination to create independent projects as an actor, director, writer, and producer led him to win the role of "Dani Rojas" in the popular television comedy series "Ted Lasso" on Apple TV+. His performance as Rojas has not only garnered global recognition but also provided a platform for positivity, inspiration, and Latin American representation.
Fernández's recent accolades include the "Rising Star" Award for Television from the Critics Choice Association during the 2nd Annual Celebration of Latino Cinema & Television, presented by Oscar-winning director Alejandro González Iñárritu.
Audiences were thrilled to see Fernández make his debut in the Marvel Universe with his end scene appearance in "Spider Man: No Way Home", and with the recent announcement of his role as "Wheeljack" in the upcoming "Transformers: Rise Of The Beasts", Fernández is becoming a sought-after talent in Hollywood action films.
In 2017, Fernández launched his production company "Espectro MX Films", which produced the upcoming feature film "SISTERS", in which Fernández stars. The company is currently in pre-production for the feature film adaptation of his critically acclaimed short film, "Fuera de Serie", based on the real-life story of Guillermo González Camarena. "Espectro MX Films" won the prestigious prize of Best Short Film at the Premios Latino 2018 in Marbella, Spain.
Fernández is a polyglot, speaking four languages in addition to his native Spanish, allowing him to work on projects globally, both on stage and on screen.
