Biography

Meredith Salenger, a multifaceted individual, was born and raised in the picturesque city of Malibu, California, surrounded by the warmth and sunshine of the Golden State. She began her illustrious career in the entertainment industry at the tender age of 10, landing the role of a singing and dancing orphan in the iconic 1982 film "Annie," directed by the renowned John Huston.

As she grew older, Meredith's talent and dedication earned her leading roles in notable films, including "The Journey of Natty Gann" opposite John Cusack and Ray Wise, which garnered her the "Best Actress in a Drama" award at the Youth in Film Awards for her captivating portrayal of the tomboyish Natty Gann. This critically acclaimed film also holds the distinction of being the first American movie to win the gold award at the Moscow Film Festival.

After a stint in the teen film genre, Meredith took a four-year hiatus from Hollywood to pursue her passion for education, graduating cum laude with a degree in Psychology from Harvard University. Upon her return to the entertainment industry, she continued to impress audiences with her versatility, starring in a wide range of TV comedies and dramas, including "H.U.D," "Chicks," "Will & Grace," "Anger Management," and "24."

Meredith's impressive résumé also boasts dramatic roles in popular shows such as "Dawson's Creek," "Grey's Anatomy," "Daredevil," "Damages," "Buffy the Vampire Slayer," "Cold Case," and "Close to Home," to name a few. Her film credits include "Lake Placid" alongside Bill Pullman, Brendan Gleeson, Oliver Platt, and Betty White, as well as "Village of the Damned" with Mark Hamill and Christopher Reeve.

In addition to her on-screen work, Meredith has lent her voice to various animated projects, including "The Clone Wars," "Rebels," and "The Force Awakens" within the Star Wars universe. Her voiceover credits also include "The Secret Life of Pets 2," "My Little Pony," "Teen Titans Go! to the Movies," "Super Robot Monkey Team Hyperforce Go!," "Robot Chicken," "Lego DC Super Hero Girls," and more.

In her personal life, Meredith has been certified in Mediation from the Straus Institute for Dispute Resolution at Pepperdine University School of Law and has successfully mediated over a hundred cases throughout the Los Angeles Superior courts. In 2017, she married comedian Patton Oswalt and became an instant mother to the adorable and mischievous Alice, who has become her favorite person of all time!

Since 2021, Meredith has been writing and producing two shows with her writing partner Matt Boren, while also voicing various animated shows, including Marvel's M.O.D.O.K. on HULU. She also produces and hosts a hilarious podcast with her husband, "Did you get my text?"
