Bernard D. Elf, an eccentric inventor, fails with his memory-creating device, but gets a chance to prove himself when Santa is kidnapped by Neville Baddington and his mother Vera. They seek to discover Santa's secret to delivering presents worldwide in one night. Bernard knows the secret, using a time-traveling device, and decides to go back in time to prevent the abduction and save Santa and Christmas.
