Biography

Newell Alexander's impressive stage credits boast a plethora of original productions, including Del Shores' "Cheatin'," "Daddy's Dyin' Who's Got the Will?" - which he also appeared in the film adaptation - "Sordid Lives" - another film adaptation - and "Southern Baptist Sissies".

His television work is equally impressive, featuring recurring roles on HBO's "Big Love" (2006),"Arrested Development" (2003),"Alias" (2001),and "Walker, Texas Ranger" (1993). He is a key member of the esteemed "L.A. MadDogs", a renowned voice-over group, having lent his voice to numerous projects such as "Ray" (2003),"Shark Tale" (2004),"Shrek" (2001),"Shrek 2" (2004),"Madagascar" (2005),"Kill Bill: Vol. 1" (2003),and "Kill Bill: Vol. 2" (2004),among many others.

In addition to his voice-over work, Newell has voiced commercials for prominent companies such as SmithBarney, CVS Pharmacy, Cool Whip, Aleve, Pfizer, Acura, Coca-Cola, Wells Fargo Bank, and Washington Apples. He has also taken on the role of impersonating George W. Bush for MoveOn.org.

Furthermore, Newell has had the distinction of hosting the Texas History Museum's "Texas Hall of Heroes" at the State Capitol in Austin, playing the role of Gen. Sam Houston. He has also produced and performed in 33 hour-long radio dramas for the Autry Museum of Western Heritage, which aired on PBS.

Prior to his extensive career, Newell had the opportunity to perform as Neil Young's opening act, "Dan Clear", for 70 shows in 1983-84. He is married to Rosemary and they share five children and seven grandchildren.
