Karen McCann's daughter is brutally murdered, and the perpetrator, Robert Doob, is released due to a technicality. Karen becomes obsessed with catching him and preventing further tragedy. She discovers Doob is stalking another woman and tries to warn her, but is rebuffed. When Doob finds out Karen is following him, he threatens her youngest daughter. Desperate, Karen joins a vigilante group to take matters into her own hands, but a friend from the group turns out to be an FBI agent, warning her of the consequences. As tensions rise with her husband, Karen takes matters into her own hands, luring Doob into her house and killing him in self-defense.
