Biography

Beverly D'Angelo is a captivating and talented actress, known for her extensive career spanning over four decades. Born on November 15, 1951, in Columbus, Ohio, she is the daughter of musicians Priscilla Ruth and Eugene Constantino "Gene" D'Angelo. Her maternal grandfather, Howard Dwight Smith, was the architect who designed the Ohio Stadium at Ohio State University.

Initially drawn to art, Beverly worked as an animator/cartoonist at Hanna-Barbera Productions before pursuing a rock singing career in Canada. She also worked as a session vocalist and sang at various venues, including coffeehouses and topless bars. At one point, she was invited to join rockabilly legend Ronnie Hawkins' band.

Beverly's acting career began when she left the Hawkins band and joined the Charlottetown Festival repertory company, touring Canada as Ophelia in the rock musical "Kronborg: 1582". Her performance caught the attention of renowned actress Colleen Dewhurst, who saw promise in both Beverly and the show. The show was later revamped and became the rock musical "Rockabye Hamlet", which made its way to Broadway in 1976.

Beverly's breakthrough role came when she played Patsy Cline in the acclaimed biopic "Coal Miner's Daughter" (1980),for which she and Oscar winner Sissy Spacek (as Loretta Lynn) expertly supplied their own vocals. She went on to play a wide range of characters, from tough-as-nails prostitutes to rich, prim widows, and even sang in several films.

Beverly has also had a successful television career, earning an Emmy nomination for her performance as Stella Kowalski in the TV remake of "A Streetcar Named Desire" (1984). She has appeared in numerous TV mini-movies and series, including "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit", "Entourage", "Shooter", and "Insatiable".

In her personal life, Beverly has been involved in several high-profile relationships, including with director Milos Forman, Italian duke Lorenzo Salviati, Irish director Neil Jordan, and production designer Anton Furst, with whom she had twins in 2001. She has also been married to actor Al Pacino, with whom she has twin children.

Today, Beverly's career has slowed down, and she has focused on raising her children. However, she still occasionally performs at L.A. nightclubs and with a jazz band that includes her brother Jeff. Despite her ups and downs, Beverly remains a beloved and respected figure in the entertainment industry, known for her captivating performances and colorful personality.
