Connor MacLeod, a wandering Immortal, fled Scotland after his wife Heather's death centuries ago. He eventually settled in Japan, where he befriended the sorcerer Nakano, another Immortal. Nakano taught Connor new skills, but their friendship was disrupted when Kane, an old enemy, arrived seeking to kill Nakano. Despite succeeding, Kane was trapped when the mountain collapsed after Nakano's beheading. Centuries later, an excavation uncovers Nakano's long-buried cave.
