Biography

Michael James, also affectionately known as Jimmy, was born in Nottingham, where he would later receive his education at Becket Roman Catholic Grammar School, located in the charming West Bridgeford neighborhood. During his time at this esteemed institution, Michael was frequently administered corporal punishment, a total of 130 times, to be exact. Despite this, he managed to excel in various aspects of school life, particularly in the realm of sports. In fact, his impressive skills on the football field earned him a place in the record books, as he scored an astonishing 60 goals for the under-13 team in a single season.

In between his academic pursuits and athletic endeavors, Michael developed a profound appreciation for literature and the English language, courtesy of a dedicated teacher at Becket Grammar School. This love for language would remain with him throughout his life, influencing his future endeavors.

Michael's educational journey came to a close when he left Becket Grammar School at the age of 17, having achieved an A-level in philosophy. He subsequently embarked on a career in accounting, joining the coal board. However, before sitting for his accountancy finals, Michael made the bold decision to leave the coal board and venture into the world of commerce, specifically the Nottingham Fish Market. It was here that he discovered a new language, one that would have a profound impact on his life and career.
