Biography

William Mauldin Hopkins, better known as Bo Hopkins, is a renowned American actor born in Greenville, South Carolina, with a distinctive sandy-haired appearance. His early life was marked by tragedy when his father passed away when he was just nine years old, leaving him to be raised by his mother and grandmother. At the age of 16, Hopkins made the bold decision to join the US Army, where he served his hitch before pursuing a career in acting.

Bo Hopkins' breakthrough in the film industry came with his role as the ill-fated "Crazy Lee" in the iconic western The Wild Bunch (1969),directed by Sam Peckinpah. This led to further collaborations with Peckinpah, including roles in The Getaway (1972) and The Killer Elite (1975). Throughout the 1980s and 1990s, Hopkins remained a prolific television guest star, appearing in popular shows such as The Rockford Files (1974),Charlie's Angels (1976),The A-Team (1983),Hotel (1983),Matt Houston (1982),and Dynasty (1981).

In addition to his television work, Bo Hopkins has starred in numerous feature films, including Midnight Express (1978),American Graffiti (1973),The Bounty Hunter (1989),U Turn (1997),and Shade (2003). His versatility as an actor has allowed him to portray a wide range of characters, from lawmen to psychos and oily villains, often leveraging his "good old boy" persona and Southern drawl to bring these roles to life.

In his personal life, Bo Hopkins is married to Sian and has a son named Matthew. He is an avid fisherman and fan of the Anaheim Angels baseball team, and also enjoys raising koi fish. Despite his many accomplishments in the entertainment industry, Hopkins remains a humble and private individual, preferring to keep a low profile outside of his professional pursuits.
