François Truffaut's Antoine Doinel series continues with the third installment, following Antoine's life after being discharged from military service. He struggles to find employment, but ultimately lands a job as a security guard, which he loses. He then becomes an assistant to a private detective and becomes entangled in a complicated love triangle with the detective's wife, Fabienne, and his childhood sweetheart, Christine.
