Marie-France, a talented actress, first gained recognition as a key figure in the Nouvelle Vague movement of the 1960s. Born into a family of colonial governors, she spent her early childhood in French Indochina, before moving to Paris at the age of twelve. Her early life was marked by a chance encounter with a casting director, who was tasked by François Truffaut to find a fresh and cheerful face for his 32-minute film Antoine and Colette (1962).
