Exiled American gangster Colini befriends and trains a young Sicilian outlaw, renaming him "Johnny Cool". Colini then sends Johnny to the US to exact revenge on those responsible for his downfall. In New York, Johnny kills several underworld figures before teaming up with Dare Guiness, a wealthy divorcée, and they face opposition from the gangsters.
