Tyla Anne Harris, a multifaceted entertainer, was born in Atlanta, Georgia, where she was nurtured in a creative environment that would shape her artistic pursuits. From a young age, she was trained in various disciplines, including film and theatre acting, improvisational comedy, ballet, modern dance, majorette and hip hop dance, pole and piano, under the guidance of esteemed institutions.
As a child, Tyla performed in productions with The BlackTop Circus in Atlanta, Georgia, showcasing her natural talent. She was also an exceptional student, exceling in academics while pursuing her passion for the performing arts. Her first professional gig was with Alexander White Agency, where she landed a Coca-Cola print ad campaign, marking the beginning of her on-screen journey.
Throughout her high school years, Tyla demonstrated her versatility by taking on numerous roles, including acting, being the president of a championship-winning policy debate team, leading an all-girl volunteer group, serving as a majorette, and interning with her local District Attorney's office. She was an AP and dual enrollment student, graduating Magna Cum Laude.
During her academic career, Tyla appeared in various television series, including Six (2017),Tales (2019),and Claws (2017),as well as commercials for multiple companies. She was invited to speak at the Savannah College of Arts & Design and released a self-published poetry book. Upon graduation, Tyla began filming For Life (2019) for ABC.
As her acting career flourished, Tyla continued to explore different art forms, including dancing, rapping, writing, and painting. She holds a Bachelor's degree in Political Science, with a concentration in International Affairs, which has enabled her to focus on community-driven projects, producing, writing, and directing entertainment that uplifts society and pushes the conversation on social boundaries and topics.
Tyla is actively involved with the Saving Our Daughters Organization, co-founded by Keke Palmer, which utilizes the arts to help girls from multicultural backgrounds overcome obstacles. She also volunteers with various organizations in the Atlanta community, using her platform to make a positive impact.
