Devon's early life was marked by a series of moves, commencing with her birth in Ontario, Canada to American parents, a circumstance that would eventually lead to her family relocating to New Mexico to be in close proximity to the renowned Very Large Array astronomical radio observatory. Subsequent to their stay in New Mexico, the family made their way to Massachusetts, where Devon would eventually earn her Equity card at the tender age of 11. Throughout her formative years, she honed her acting skills in productions in Boston, including numerous performances at the esteemed Wheelock Family Theatre.
Devon's passion for the performing arts was also evident in her extensive dance training, as she took on leading roles with the respected Acton School of Ballet. Her academic pursuits led her to graduate from Acton-Boxborough Regional High School, after which she made the bold decision to relocate to New York City on her 18th birthday. This marked the beginning of her journey as a student at the prestigious NYU's Tisch School of the Arts, where she had the opportunity to study at the renowned Circle in the Square Theatre School and The Classical Studio.
Following her graduation, Devon spent many years working in regional theatre before embarking on a national tour as Elaine Robinson in the First National Tour of "The Graduate." Notable actresses such as Jerry Hall, Linda Gray, Lorraine Bracco, and Kelly McGillis took on the iconic role of Mrs. Robinson during the tour. Her subsequent move to Los Angeles led her to discover both The Antaeus Theatre Company, which would become her theatrical home base, and her future husband, actor Steven Brand.
In addition to her work in theatre, film, and television, Devon has also established herself as a skilled audio book narrator, specializing in young adult fiction.
