TJ O'Grady-Peyton's illustrious career in the film industry began to take shape in 2013 when he was shortlisted for the Young Director Awards in Cannes, a prestigious honor that recognized his exceptional talent following his graduation from the London Film School's esteemed filmmaking MA program.
Since then, TJ has directed a diverse range of commercial projects around the world for prominent clients such as Under Armour, UEFA, Asics, Volkswagen, BMW, and The European Union, solidifying his reputation as a versatile and skilled director.
TJ's remarkable achievements also include being awarded the Discovery Award in his hometown of Dublin by the Dublin Film Festival, a testament to his dedication and passion for his craft. His short film "Wave," which he also starred in, garnered widespread acclaim after winning an Irish Film and Television Award for Best Short, and was subsequently picked up by The New Yorker. The film has been showcased at an impressive 75 festivals worldwide, including the BFI, Melbourne, Aspen, and Clermont Ferrand, after its world premiere at Tribeca in 2017.
In 2020, TJ became a member of the esteemed Director's Guild of America, a significant milestone in his career. His latest short film, "Silence," made its world premiere at Tribeca in 2021 and earned him the Bingham Ray New Talent Award at the Galway Film Fleadh. The film was also nominated for an Irish Film and Television Award in 2022, further cementing TJ's status as a talented and innovative filmmaker.
