Taneshasang was born in Biloxi, Mississippi, but raised in Chicago, Illinois. As a child, she sang in the church choir and was blessed with the opportunity to sing with Gospel legend Mahalia Jackson. Tanesha dreamed of being a performer from a young age and pursued her dreams while attending Western Illinois University, majoring in Theatre and Mass Communications.
