Susan began her career as a ballet dancer, training under the renowned George Balanchine at the School of American Ballet in New York City. She went on to perform with esteemed companies such as the Eglevsky Ballet in New York City, the Hannover Ballet in Germany, and the Cleveland Ballet, extensively touring with each.
After settling back in her hometown of Los Angeles, Susan shifted her focus to acting, training with acclaimed instructors Susan Peretz and Charlie Laughton of the Actors Studio, as well as Bill Traylor of "The Loft", now known as "The Lost Studio". She honed her craft by working with members of the Actors Conservatory Ensemble in a well-received production of John Patrick Shanley's "Savage in Limbo".
To support herself while continuing her passion for acting, Susan took on odd jobs, including art modeling and waitressing. Her extensive resume boasts a wide range of dramatic and comedic roles in both contemporary and classic plays on various LA stages.
Some of her notable performances include the award-winning production of "Detective Story" (Best Ensemble),the two-character David Mamet play "Reunion", which earned her a Drama Logue Award for best performance, and Harold Pinter's two-character "The Lover", which received a 2003 LA Weekly Best One Act.
Additional roles include Lilly Garland in "Twentieth Century", Irina in "Idiot's Delight", and Essie in "The Great Sebastians", all performed at the Lillian. She has also appeared in Ceasar and Cleopatra, God of Vengence, Tennesee Williams' "Talk to Me Like the Rain and Let me Listen", Sam Shepard's "Fool for Love", Sherwood Schartz' The Trial Of Othello, and Shanley's "Four Dogs and Bone", among others.
Susan has also made appearances in television shows such as Lucky Louie and had a lead role in Mafioso with Leo Rossi and Bobby Costanza, and has worked alongside Freddy Rodriguez and Marco Leonardi in "My Brother Jack".
Her debut feature film, "What's up, Scarlet?", which she produced, co-wrote, and starred in, has been showcased at numerous festivals worldwide, including the OutFest in LA, Frameline in San Francisco, Austin Gay and Lesbian Film Festival, and a host of others in Europe, Canada, and Australia. The film also features Sally Kirkland, Jere Burns, and Musetta Vander, and was shown theatrically at Laemmle's Sunset 5.
