Stephanie Garvin is a multifaceted American creative force, residing in Los Angeles, California, who has successfully transitioned from a career in the financial industry and entrepreneurship to pursue her childhood dream of writing and making movies.
As she pursued her film studies at the University of California, Los Angeles (U.C.L.A),University of California, Berkeley (UCB),and the Margie Haber School, Ms. Garvin worked in various supporting acting roles, closely observing and learning about movie directing and production. This hands-on experience laid the foundation for her future endeavors.
Ms. Garvin's determination and perseverance led her to found ETM Pictures Inc. and later ETM Distribution LLC., allowing her to collaborate with independent filmmakers and stakeholders. Overcoming numerous industry obstacles, she emerged as the Writer, Executive Producer, and Director of the feature film Holiday Twist, set to be released nationally on December 1, 2023.
Throughout the development of Holiday Twist, Ms. Garvin was deeply involved in all creative and business aspects of the project, driven by her desire to maintain independence and retain her rights in the creative and distribution processes. The initial success of the film has paved the way for a sequel, scheduled for release in 2024.
Prior to her work on Holiday Twist, Ms. Garvin co-produced the award-winning feature film The Trial of the Chicago 7, which secured a prominent deal with Netflix and was directed by Aaron Sorkin. She also co-produced the feature film documentary Mr. Nelson on the North Side, which explored the early life of Prince until his passing at the height of his career.
Ms. Garvin's personal experiences, including family date nights with her children, have shaped her passion for creating meaningful movie content that can be enjoyed by the entire family. After becoming an empty-nester, her desire to bring her childhood dream to life drove her to pursue her goals with renewed purpose.
In addition to her creative endeavors, Ms. Garvin has served as a board member of the Burbank Film Festival for several years, dedicating herself to giving back to the industry that has given her so much.
