Richard Blade's illustrious career in radio began in Bakersfield in 1980, where he worked his way up to becoming the number one morning-drive DJ in Los Angeles on KROQ FM.
As a television personality, Richard hosted multiple shows in the eighties, including MV3, Video One, and VideoBeat, which he also wrote and produced.
In addition to his television work, Richard served as a correspondent on Paramount's short-lived afternoon show "America" and hosted Andy Friendly's nationally syndicated "Rock'n' Roll Evening News."
Richard was also one of the original hosts of the cable network "Movietime" and made numerous television appearances as an actor, including recurring roles on "Square Pegs" and "Hunter," as well as appearances on "Divorce Court" and "Throb."
In the film world, Richard co-starred in "Girls Just Want To Have Fun," "101," and "Crystal Heart," and starred in "Spellcaster."
After a brief hiatus to run a dive shop in the Caribbean, Richard returned to the industry in 2003 and was recruited by VH1 to produce both seasons of "Bands Reunited."
He also served as talent consultant on the second season of "Don't Forget The Lyrics" and wrote and co-starred in the Lifetime movie "Long Lost Son" alongside Chace Crawford and Gabrielle Anwar.
Since 2004, Richard has had his own nationwide daily show on Sirius Satellite radio, which can be heard every afternoon from 12pm to 6pm (PST) on SiriusXM 33, 1st Wave.
In addition to his work in radio and television, Richard has also pursued a career as a writer. His autobiography, "World In My Eyes," became a nationwide bestseller in 2017, and he has since written three more novels, each of which has topped Amazon's sales charts: "SPQR," "Birthright," and "Imposters."
Richard is also a sought-after DJ and MC for high-end celebrity parties, concerts, and events.
