Richard Berge is a renowned and accomplished producer and director of cinematic, character-driven films that challenge the mind and touch the heart, boasting a plethora of prestigious accolades to his name, including Emmy, Peabody, Oscar, and BAFTA nominations.
His films have premiered at some of the most esteemed festivals globally, such as the Telluride, Sundance, Toronto, IDFA, and Cannes film festivals.
As a multi-talented filmmaker, Richard wrote, produced, and directed "The Rape of Europa" (PBS),a documentary that garnered two Emmy nominations and a nod for Best Documentary Screenplay from the Writers Guild of America.
The Producers Guild of America recognized Richard's outstanding work on "The Island President" (ITVS/Samuel Goldwyn Films) by nominating him as its Theatrical Documentary Producer of the Year.
In collaboration with documentary film mogul Diane Weyermann, Richard produced "An Inconvenient Sequel: Truth to Power" (Participant/Paramount),which opened the 2017 Sundance Film Festival.
With director Barry Levinson, Richard co-wrote and produced "Yesterday's Tomorrows" (Disney/Showtime),a project that showcased his versatility as a filmmaker.
Richard also worked closely with director Jon Else on two opera-themed films, serving as line producer on "Sing Faster: The Stagehands' Ring Cycle" (PBS) and executive producer on "Land of Gold" (PBS).
For nearly two decades, Richard has enjoyed a fruitful collaboration with Bonni Cohen and Jon Shenk at Actual Films, producing numerous films, including three Netflix releases: "Audrey & Daisy," "Athlete A," and "Lead Me Home."
