Perla Rodriguez, also known as Pearl Roads, is a talented American actress and musician born and raised in the vibrant region of South Texas. From a young age, she has been captivated by the world of entertainment, and her passion has led her to explore various fields of performance, including choir, cheerleading, Mariachi, and color guard.
Throughout her high school years, Perla received numerous acting awards for her outstanding performances in school plays, solidifying her dedication to the craft. Her impressive skills and talent have not gone unnoticed, as she has been involved in various regional short films and has even written, acted, directed, and filmed her own short movies.
Perla's remarkable achievements include winning the grand prize award for her film "Embrace" in 2007, earning her recognition among other regional filmmakers. Two years later, she created a hilarious spoof of Shakira and entered it into a contest on the popular international show "El Gordo y La Flaca," where viewers voted for their favorite. Perla's entry won, and she was flown to Miami to meet the singer herself.
The same spoof was later aired on ITV2's "Katy Brand vs. Shakira" in the United Kingdom. Perla's impressive performance also earned her the top award of Best Actress in the feature "Speechless" for a regional 24-hour film race in 2011. That same summer, she landed the role of Laurel in the cinematic feature "The Cloth," where she had the opportunity to act alongside the renowned Eric Roberts.
In addition to her impressive acting career, Perla is also the founder of PearlRoads Studios, which she established in February 2009. She holds an A.A.S. in Digital Media Design and a B.A. in Theater - TV/Film Production, further demonstrating her dedication to the film industry.
