Francisco (Paco) Arango, a renowned television producer and filmmaker, was born in Mexico City in 1967 and received his education in the United States at Deerfield Academy and Tufts University.
He founded his own television production company in 1999 and went on to create and write several shows, including Ala Dina!, which became one of Spain's top-rated programs and ran for three seasons.
Paco's passion for storytelling extends beyond entertainment, as he has dedicated his career to using his platform to make a positive impact on the world. He has produced several films that not only entertain but also raise awareness and funds for important causes.
In 2011, Paco released his first film, "Maktub", which was nominated for three Goya Awards and raised funds for the construction of the Maktub Center, a pediatric bone marrow transplant wing in Spain.
His subsequent films, including "The Healer" (2017) and "Los Rodríguez y el Más Allá" (2019),have also been successful in both entertainment and fundraising. "The Healer" became the first film in the world to donate 100% of its proceeds to children with cancer or in vulnerable situations and won several awards and recognition in 2018.
Paco's latest film, "Mi Otro Jon", is set to be released in October 2023 and stars Carmen Maura, a renowned Spanish actress with four Goya awards.
Through his foundation, Aladina, Paco provides psychological, emotional, and material assistance to children and teenagers with cancer, as well as their families, and has been doing so since 2005. Aladina uses color and smiles to brighten hospital stays for each and every child, and Paco's mission is to help kids fight childhood cancer and never take away a child's smile.
