Nutan Samarth, a talented actress and beauty queen, was born on June 4, 1936, to a family of artists. Her parents, Kumarsen Samarth, a poet, and Shobhana, an actress, were married and had four children, with Nutan being the eldest. However, her parents separated when she was just a young child.
Nutan's early life was marked by her debut in the film industry at the tender age of 13 in K. Asif's "Hamari Beti". Her natural beauty and talent quickly earned her recognition, and she was crowned Miss Mussorie in 1952. This early success, however, took a toll on her, and she temporarily quit the film industry in the 1950s to move to Switzerland.
After her return to India, Nutan married Commander Rajnish Bahl and began a new chapter in her life. She went on to have a highly successful and innovative career, showcasing her versatility as an actress by portraying comedy, drama, and romance with equal ease. Her dedication to her craft earned her a record-breaking five Filmfare Awards for Best Actress and one for Outstanding Performance.
Despite her success, Nutan's career began to decline in the 1970s and 1980s. She spent most of her time collecting rare artefacts and focusing on her personal life, including her family. Tragically, Nutan passed away in February 1991, succumbing to cancer.
Throughout her life, Nutan left an indelible mark on the Indian film industry, and her legacy continues to inspire new generations of actors and actresses.
