Mike Clarke, a lifelong film enthusiast, embarked on a filmmaking journey prior to his teenage years and continued to hone his craft through short films in the early 1990s. These early endeavors garnered him recognition from esteemed film critics worldwide, featured in prominent movie magazines globally.
Following a hiatus, Mike returned to his passion in 2013 with a new wave of critically acclaimed short films, including A Hand to Play, starring Hellraiser's Doug Bradley, Paper and Plastic, featuring Anthony Quinlan, and Love's Innocence Lost, starring Damien Ashley. These films received widespread critical acclaim and won numerous prestigious awards.
Noted as one of Britain's most promising up-and-coming filmmakers, Mike Clarke has since transitioned to feature films, co-directing the horror movie The Stranger alongside Paul Gerrard and the gritty British drama A Light Through Coloured Glass, which won over thirty awards at international film festivals. His subsequent short film, Squeeze, featured Josh Hamilton and Sallieu Sesay.
In the near future, Mike is set to direct the crime comedy Semolina Pilchard in 2024, starring Sarah-Louise Chadwick, Sophia Leanne Kelly, Alina Allison, Macaulay Cooper, Joe McGann, Jack Ryder, and Louis Emerick.
