Matthew Graham was born in Cold Lake, Alberta, Canada, to an army family, which meant he spent his childhood moving across the country. The family eventually settled in Victoria, British Columbia, where Matthew's passion for acting began to take shape.
He developed a strong foundation in the performing arts, studying musical theatre and dance in high school and actively participating in sports, even earning a provincial championship in rowing. Matthew's academic pursuits continued at Simon Fraser University, where he initially focused on a degree in Technical Theatre, with a concentration in lighting design. However, he later switched to majoring in Acting and earned his Bachelor of Fine Arts in Performance in 2007.
Following his university education, Matthew continued to hone his craft in musical theatre, taking on roles such as Evil Ed in the Vancouver premiere of "Evil Dead the Musical" and King Marchand in "Victor Victoria," sharing the stage with renowned Canadian theatre legend Jeff Hyslop. During this period, he also began to explore his love for film acting, appearing in short films.
For the past decade, Matthew has dedicated himself to film, television, and commercial work, with recent credits including television series such as "Batwoman," "Supernatural," "Riverdale," and numerous Lifetime and Hallmark movies. He can also be seen as the lead character Todd in the upcoming comedy adventure film "Outrunners."
In addition to his performing career, Matthew has started to share his expertise and extensive performing experience with the community as an acting coach. When not working, Matthew enjoys playing sports, cooking, and spending time in nature. He is also a contract Director and Creative Consultant for the Canadian dance company Broken Rhythms Victoria Society.
