Marc Marut, a talented Canadian actor, was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba, to parents who had immigrated from England and France. His family moved to Oakville, Ontario, when he was just three years old, and he spent his childhood participating in various activities such as soccer, ju-jitsu, cub scouts, and the school choir.
As a child, Marc was very active and attended École Ste-Marie, where he excelled academically, missing more than half of the school year due to his acting commitments. His impressive performance earned him a spot ahead of his peers, and he later attended Appleby College and Oakville Trafalgar High School.
Marc's early start in acting began when he was just nine years old, when his father persuaded him to audition for the production of Les Misérables. His mother was initially opposed to the idea, but Marc landed the role of Gavroche and had to quit cub scouts and other extracurricular activities due to the demanding schedule of the play.
Marc's mother took on a key role in his early career, and he soon became one of the busiest young actors in Toronto, landing roles in television series such as The Paperboy, TekWar: TekLords, TekWar: TekJustice, and Avonlea.
After taking a break from acting, Marc resumed his martial arts training at the age of 19 and became proficient in various styles, including jiu-jitsu, kung fu, lapunti arnis de abanico, and grappling. He participated in tournaments across Ontario and the United States, and martial arts remains one of his true passions.
Marc's fascination with visual effects began after seeing the film Monsters at the Toronto International Film Festival, where he was inspired by the stunning visual effects created by director Gareth Edwards using his own laptop computer. He soon discovered the open-source software Blender and has dedicated himself to learning how to create visual effects for his own projects.
Today, Marc lives near Toronto with his son and continues to pursue his creative passions, including acting, music, writing, video production, and visual effects.
