Lou Wegner, a 21-year-old actor and animal advocate, was born in Columbus, Ohio, a city that has produced a plethora of renowned personalities, including Steven Spielberg, Drew Carey, Annie Oakley, Bob Hope, Paul Newman, Clark Gable, and John Glenn.
Lou's impressive acting career has seen him appear in a range of films and television shows, including "Trouble With the Curve" alongside Clint Eastwood, Amy Adams, and Justin Timberlake, "Teenage Cocktail", "The Pledge", "A Christmas Tree Miracle", "Warrior Showdown", and the 2011 VH-1 Do Something Awards, as well as several other projects.
In addition to his acting pursuits, Lou is the founder of Kids Against Animal Cruelty (KAAC),a non-profit organization dedicated to animal rights, rescue, and adoption. Established in 2010, KAAC has chapters in 16 states across the United States, as well as global chapters in Belgium, Brazil, Greece, and Nepal. The organization has a strong presence in the animal welfare community, with members actively working on issues such as banning puppy mills, closing down shelter gas chambers, promoting spay and neuter initiatives, and advocating for wildlife conservation.
Lou's tireless efforts have garnered support from several high-profile celebrities, including Betty White, Denise Richards, and Joanna Krupa. His music video/PSA "1Life2Live" was filmed at the Baldwin Park Animal Shelter in Los Angeles and aims to raise awareness about the millions of animals on death row in high-kill shelters.
As the National Youth Ambassador for The American Humane Association, Lou has been featured on CNN and National Geographic, and is a powerful voice for animal welfare. When he's not acting, Lou dedicates his time to finding homes for shelter animals and caring for his eight rescue dogs. He is also a skilled martial artist, swordsman, equestrian, parkour enthusiast, and longboarder.
