Lauryn Petrie is a multifaceted individual with a diverse range of professional experiences, including standup comedy, writing, acting, and formerly working as an autopsy assistant. Prior to her career in the entertainment industry, she had a stint as a drug addict and lived under a bridge. This unique blend of life experiences has enabled her to develop a distinctive sense of humor that is both outrageous and transgressive.
As a standup comedian, Lauryn has performed at various esteemed venues, including Skankfest NYC (2019),Skankfest South (2021),Hell Yes Fest, New York Comedy Festival, Carolines, Cape Fear Comedy Festival, Accidental Comedy Festival, and The Gramercy Theater. She has also made appearances on TNT and has been featured on SiriusXM, Gas Digital, Sam Tripoli's Tinfoil Hat, and Zac Amico's Midnight Spookshow.
In addition to her work in comedy, Lauryn was the chief editor for Broke-Ass Stuart's political and lifestyle website, NYC, from 2016 to 2018. She is currently putting the finishing touches on her forthcoming memoir, which recounts her experiences working in the Manhattan morgue during the height of the Covid-19 pandemic.
Furthermore, Lauryn co-hosts and produces a weekly podcast, "Alien, Murder, Sex," which is recorded and filmed at GaS Digital Studios.
