Born in Fort Hood, Texas, Lassiter embarked on a journey with three distinct career paths, initially pursuing a career as a professional athlete, followed by a stint as an attorney, and currently thriving as an actor. As a native Houstonian, Lassiter graduated from Strake Jesuit High School, where he was recruited by Ron Meyer to play tight end for Southern Methodist University (SMU) in 1981.
After completing his undergraduate degree in History from Southern Methodist University, Lassiter pursued a Juris Doctor degree from The University of Tulsa School of Law, graduating in 1984. He then embarked on a decade-long career as a trial and appellate attorney in South Texas, before being disbarred and serving a sentence for a white-collar crime.
Upon returning to the Rio Grande Valley, Lassiter continued to write appeals as a legal assistant and began training contestants for Miss Texas USA. Notably, he worked with Danielle Doty, who won the Best Teen Swimsuit Award and was crowned Miss Texas Teen 2010. During this period, Lassiter was encouraged to audition for local roles and was cast as an extra in the 2011 film "Jacob". Director Larry Wade Carrell was impressed with his performance and cast him as Leroy, resulting in one of his favorite scenes in the movie.
Lassiter went on to film over a dozen roles in 2011 and performed in several plays, including the iconic role of Atticus Finch in Harper Lee's "To Kill a Mockingbird" to sold-out crowds. He has since worked on major TV and studio productions, collaborating with renowned directors and producers, including Robert Rodriguez, Brian Bettwy, Bill Pope, and Tom Sturgis.
