Biography

Keon Rahzeem Mitchell was born on December 30, 1991, in Atlanta, Georgia. After graduating from Southwest Dekalb High School, he pursued higher education at North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University, where he earned a degree in computer science. However, during his senior year, he made the bold decision to pursue an acting career, a lifelong dream.

Keon's first foray into acting was taking his first acting class ever at NCAT, prior to graduating, which led him to continue taking classes in Raleigh, North Carolina. He was able to balance his newfound passion with his corporate career as a Business Systems Analyst. His first opportunity to perform on stage was in a play called "Mirandy and Brother Wind" at the Raleigh Little Theatre, where he played the role of Brother Wind, a mystic.

This experience had a profound impact on Keon, leading him to relocate to Charlotte, North Carolina. In Charlotte, he landed his first on-camera project, a leading role in an ESPN production, in 2015. Shortly after, he was cast in David E. Talbert's "Almost Christmas" (2016) as the role of Young Walter.

Keon continued to hone his craft by working with renowned acting coaches, including Kelley Hinman, a first-generation Meisner student of Sanford Meisner. In 2016, he began to focus on his commercial career, appearing in a series of national commercials, including Hasbro Toy's Mrs. Monopoly, Carowinds Amusement Park, The Lottery, Comporium, and Wells Fargo.

After moving back to Atlanta, Georgia in 2018, Keon returned to his roots in theatre and film. He worked with major studios on "Head over Heels", a dramedy play created by Lolita Snipes, where he played the role of Kirk, a young man who learns to navigate relationships. The play featured notable stars such as Q. Parker from the music group 112, singer Tamika Scott from SWV, Dottie Peoples, comedian Tony Baker, and many more.

In 2020, Keon portrayed an interpretation of James Baldwin in Jordan Peele's, J.J. Abraham's, and Meisha Green's "Love Craft Country" on Home Box Office (HBO),starring Jonathan Majors, Journey Smollet, Michael K. Williams, Courtney B. Vance, and other exceptional talent. He later appeared on Tyler Perry's "Sistas" as Officer Avery Harper, working alongside KJ Smith, Devale Ellis, and Ebony Obsidian.

Currently, Keon is working on upcoming projects set to air in the near future, continuing to make significant strides towards his goal of becoming a part of the next generation of American actors.
