John was born in Mackay, a town located in the North Queensland region. At the tender age of 16, he was offered a professional Rugby League contract with the North Queensland Cowboys. Over the next 15 years, he played in 15 NRL games, but unfortunately, he struggled with injuries, which eventually forced him to hang up his boots.
After his rugby career, John pursued his childhood passion for acting. He enrolled in acting courses under the guidance of renowned instructors Damien Rossi and Andrew Buchanan in Brisbane. He later relocated to Sydney, where he completed two courses at the prestigious National Institute of Dramatic Art.
In addition to his formal education, John also attended masterclass sessions with esteemed casting directors and teachers, including Tom McSweeney and Jose Element. He honed his craft by appearing in numerous TV commercials, featuring in an episode of the popular television series "Tricky Business" alongside Lincoln Lewis, and starring in the movie "Dripping in Chocolate" alongside David Wenham.
John's impressive resume also includes various installments of the documentary series "Deadly Women". In 2014, he landed the role of Tony Cerillo in the sci-fi thriller "Terminus", directed by award-winning filmmaker Marc Furmie. He also appeared as Donga in the 2016 mini-series "Hoges" and played the role of Cedric, an ogre, in "The Bureau of Magical Things".
Today, John resides in Los Angeles, where he continues to pursue his acting career.
