Biography

Jack Messitt is a multi-talented individual who has made a name for himself in the entertainment industry as an award-winning Cameraman, Screenwriter, and Director. With a wealth of experience in television, his credits include Scandal, Mixed-ish, Bones, and 911: Lonestar, among many others.

As a seasoned Screenwriter, Jack's work has been seen globally, with notable projects including Hwuai Brothers' thriller Control, TF1 produced thriller Trust, and Bigfoot Entertainment's award-winning horror film Midnight Movie, which marked his directorial debut.

Since graduating from the American Film Institute, Jack has worked extensively as a Director of Photography and Camera Operator, lensing hundreds of hours of television, including ABC's Scandal, Blackish, and Mixedish, NBC's The Event, Fox's 911: Lonestar, Bones, and American Idol. His international experience has taken him to various countries, including Thailand, Hong Kong, Vietnam, Belgium, Canada, Philippines, and the United States.

Jack's impressive resume also includes work as a 1st Vice President of the Society of Camera Operators and editor of Camera Operator magazine. His screenplay Remote Control was produced by China's Huayi Brothers Media and was later translated into Chinese and re-titled Control. The thriller, directed by critically acclaimed director Kenneth Bi, starred Daniel Wu, Chen Yao, Ady An, and Simon Yam.

Messitt's screenplay Trust was produced by TF1 International and starred Jamie Luner. The thriller has aired on various networks, including Lifetime, Lifetime Movie Network, Movie Central, and TF1 networks internationally.

In addition to his work behind the camera and in front of the screen, Jack made his feature film directorial debut with Midnight Movie, which won the Best Feature Film award at the Chicago Horror Film Festival. The film has had a strong DVD and Blu-Ray release, aired extensively on Showtime and The Movie Channel, and is currently available on Amazon Prime in the definitive director's cut, Midnight Movie: The Killer Cut.
