National School of Drama alumnus Inaamulhaq was born on November 14, 1979, in Saharanpur, Uttar Pradesh.
He began his journey in the world of theatre at the tender age of twelve, later joining the prestigious Indian People's Theatre Association, where he acted in numerous plays as a lead.
As he transitioned to Mumbai, Inaamulhaq started his career as a writer for television shows, working as a Creative Consultant for Comedy Circus for two and a half years before venturing into films.
While continuing to write for television, he remained committed to his passion for acting, appearing in self-written TV shows.
Inaamulhaq's breakthrough in the film industry came with the critically acclaimed Firaaq in 2008, followed by his first major role in Nitin Kakkar's National award-winning Filmistaan in 2014, where he played a Pakistani national.
His performance in Filmistaan earned him recognition, being listed as one of the Top 10 Stand-Out Actors of 2014 by Mid-Day and The Most Prominent Debuts of 2014 by IBNlive.com.
He is also featured in IMDB'S Top 200 Best Indian Actors and Actresses.
Inaamulhaq has since appeared in notable films such as Airlift, where he played the main antagonist Major Khalaf Bin Zayd, and Jolly LLB 2, where he made a cameo as a Kashmiri.
He also played essential roles in Lucknow Central and Firangi, receiving praise for his performances in both films.
Inaamulhaq recently won the Best Actor award for his role in the film Nakkash at DCSAIF (Washington DC) and IIFFB (Boston),with the film's poster launched at the Cannes Film Festival in 2018.
