Harsh Mayar, a talented Indian actor, was born on March 22nd, 1998. His impressive career in Hindi Bollywood films has earned him numerous accolades, including the prestigious National Film Award for Best Child Artist.
Harsh's journey in the entertainment industry began at a tender age of eight, when he joined the Shri Ram Center in Delhi under the guidance of his uncle, Sunil Kumar. His parents, unable to afford the acting classes, made sacrifices to ensure Harsh's passion for acting was nurtured. During this period, he performed in around 5-6 stage shows, demonstrating his early flair for the craft.
Undeterred by initial setbacks, Harsh continued to audition for various roles, a total of 180 times, showcasing his versatility in singing, dancing, and acting. His perseverance paid off when he was selected for the film Chillar Party, although he ultimately decided not to pursue the project due to a hand injury sustained during rehearsals.
After recovering from his injury, Harsh received a call for an audition, which his parents encouraged him to attend. A week later, he received the news that he had landed the role in the film I Am Kalam, directed by Nila Madhab Panda and featuring veteran actors Gulshan Grover and Pitobash Tripathy.
I Am Kalam was shot in Rajasthan in 2009 and released on August 5th, 2011. Harsh's performance in the film earned him numerous international awards and, most notably, the 58th National Film Award for Best Child Artist. His subsequent film, Jalpari: The Desert Mermaid, was released in 2012.
In 2014, Harsh appeared in Chaarfutiya Chhokare alongside Soha Ali Khan, in a Bollywood thriller film written and directed by Manish Harishankar. His latest film, Hichki, saw him share the screen with the accomplished actress Rani Mukerji.
