Hafid Abdelmoula is a multifaceted Moroccan-American film director, screenwriter, actor, and singer residing in the United States. His most acclaimed fantasy-mystery film, "Broken Gaiete", released in 2022, garnered widespread recognition by receiving 15 nominations and 5 wins at prestigious film festivals, including the Santa Fe Film Festival, El Paso Film Festival, Madrid International Film Festival, and World Music & Independent Film Festival, where he took home awards for Best Film and Best Director.
Born in Morocco, Abdelmoula's artistic inclinations began at a young age, and he was actively involved with the Agadir Regional Orchestra, the Musical Conservatoire, local theatre, and his college drama club. In 1996, he won the best singer award on Morocco's 2M channel, and shortly after, he relocated to the United States to pursue his aspirations.
As a result of his diverse cultural background, Abdelmoula has developed a deep understanding of various cultures, which is reflected in his multilingual abilities, speaking six languages, including Arabic, French, English, and Berber. This linguistic versatility has granted him the freedom to transcend cultural boundaries.
Throughout his career, Abdelmoula has written and directed numerous short films, including the award-winning "The Wall in the Garden", "Human, a Depressed Machine", "Baby", "Religified", and "Restricted". Building on his recent successes, he is currently working on his upcoming fantasy film, "Invisible Shackles", and a comedy mini-series titled "Not Again".
