Biography

Guy Rolfe, a British character actor of stage and screen, made his stage debut in 1936, concurrently with a small, uncredited role in the film "Knight Without Armor" (1937).

Prior to his transition into films, Rolfe had spent his early twenties as a professional race car driver and boxer. In 1952, he starred alongside Robert Taylor and Elizabeth Taylor in the film "Ivanhoe".

Throughout his extensive career, Rolfe's characters spanned a diverse range, from wealthy businessmen to romantic leads, sinister villains, and heroes, with a total of over thirty motion pictures to his credit.

Some of his notable film roles include playing the part of Caiaphas in "King of Kings" (1961),Taras Bulba in "Taras Bulba" (1962),and Mr. Sardonicus in "Mr. Sardonicus" (1961).

Although he was often recognized for his performances in classic pictures, Rolfe's familiar presence in the "Puppet Master" franchise cemented his status as a beloved character actor. He first appeared as toy maker Andre Toulon in the third installment of the series and made brief appearances in most subsequent "Puppet Master" movies.

Guy Rolfe passed away at the age of 91, due to natural causes, at the British Film Hospital in London, England.
