Greg Durbin, a multifaceted creative force, has worn many hats throughout his illustrious career, including those of director, writer, cinematographer, editor, and storyboard artist. His academic background is equally impressive, boasting a Bachelor of Science degree in Visual Arts/Philosophy and a Master of Fine Arts degree in Film/Visual Arts, both earned from the esteemed University of California San Diego.
Durbin's professional experience is a testament to his versatility, encompassing independent film and video production, video art, documentary, and short subject films. His passion for storytelling has driven him to excel in a wide range of mediums and formats.
In addition to his impressive resume, Durbin has also made significant contributions to the academic world. He became an Associate Professor of film at the University of Oklahoma's School of Art in 1983, where he played a key role in shaping the Film Program as its head. Seven years later, in 1987, Durbin relocated to San Diego to join the faculty at San Diego State University, where he taught in the Television, Film, and New Media Production program.
