Biography

Georges Chamchoum is a renowned film director, producer, and festival organizer of Lebanese origin, born in Niger, West Africa. With a career spanning over three decades, he has directed and produced over 35 feature films across Europe, Africa, the Middle East, and the USA, many of which have won awards at various international film festivals.

Chamchoum's impressive resume includes serving as a jury delegate for the Festival du Film Fantastique et de Science Fiction in Paris, France, a leading festival in the horror and science fiction genre, where prominent directors such as Steven Spielberg, Sam Raimi, and Joe Dante were first discovered. From 2007 to 2013, he held the position of Executive and Program Director of the Monaco Charity Film Festival, and has also served as an Executive Board Member on various film festivals.

A founder of the International Film Festival in Lagos, Nigeria, and the International Relations Executive for Notre Dame University International Film Festival in Lebanon, Chamchoum has also held the position of International Executive Director of the Yakutsk International Film Festival in Yakutia, Sakha Republic. He has attended schools in Lebanon, France, and Germany, and went on to study filmmaking at the Conservatoire du Cinema in Paris, graduating with a degree in directing.

Chamchoum has completed several feature documentaries, including "My Journey into Faith," which he considers his most personal film to date. He is currently working on several new projects, including a feature documentary titled "Hope and Fear: Egypt on the Tipping Point" and a comedy film. Two feature movies are slated for pre-production in 2015-2016.

In addition to his work in film, Chamchoum is a passionate photographer and was the official photographer for Visiora-Christian Dior from 1984 to 1990. His ultimate goal is to organize international film festivals that provide a platform for film students from around the world to showcase their work and gain exposure to Hollywood and world cinema.

One of the founders of the film festival Cinergy, Chamchoum continues to be a driving force in the film industry, pushing boundaries and promoting new talent from around the world.
