Gabriel Ellis was born in 1983 in New Jersey, the second youngest of five children. His parents, Joseph Ellis from Carrollton, Mississippi, and Nancy Feeney from New Brunswick, New Jersey, raised him in a humble home with arduous and impecunious living conditions. This challenging upbringing instilled in Gabriel a strong focus on work and school from an early age.
As a child, Gabriel discovered his passion for acting at the tender age of 8, performing in various stage plays. What began as a hobby evolved into a passion, but he eventually decided to put acting on hold to pursue a degree in forensics. Nearly halfway through his studies, Gabriel felt unfulfilled and made a drastic career change, returning to his childhood passion for acting.
With unwavering determination, Gabriel took up various acting classes, attended seminars, and networked with prestigious individuals. His hard work paid off, and he began landing roles in television, stage plays, and independent films. He stood out in the 2009 film "Before I Self Destruct" alongside Curtis "50 Cent" Jackson and secured his big debut as a ruthless assassin on the NBC Universal Television series "Chicago P.D." in 2014.
Gabriel has also appeared on "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit" and landed a lead role on the hit series "Up North" in 2017, which won several awards at the 2017 "SeriesFest" television festival in Denver, Colorado. Most recently, he obtained a role on the "Starz" hit TV drama "Power" in 2014.
