His filmography spans a wide range of genres, including drama, horror, science fiction, and thriller, and has earned him over a hundred film prizes and nominations worldwide.
Javier's first short film, "Brasil", won several awards, including the Sitges Film Festival, the "Silver Melies" for Best European Fantastic Short Film, the Golden India Catalina for Best Ibero-American Short Film, and the Universal Studios Film Master Award for Best European Director.
His first feature film, "Before the fall", premiered at the Berlin Film Festival and received top honors at the Malaga Spanish Film Festival and the TVE Miradas Awards.
Javier's second film, "Rings", was the third installment of the "The Ring" franchise and was produced by Walter Parkes and Laurie MacDonald for Paramount Pictures.
His latest film, "The Wait" (2023),premiered at the Oldenburg Film Festival and has been selected in several international film festivals, including the Vancouver International Film Festival, the Sitges International Film Festival, and the Moscow International Film Festival.
"The Wait" has received numerous awards and nominations, including Best Independent Film and Best Director at the Spanish Independent Film Awards and a nomination for Best International Picture at the 29th Satellite Awards.
