Eric Merola is a renowned, internationally acclaimed documentary filmmaker with a career spanning over a decade. Prior to his successful foray into documentary films, Eric started his professional journey as a motion graphics designer and animator. He founded "Merola Productions" and worked with various clients, including Fuel TV, WE Network, The Speed Channel, and Rolling Stone's Matt Taibbi. Additionally, Eric held the position of animation director at FlickerLab in New York City, where he collaborated on projects for Comedy Central and A&E.
In 2007, Eric embarked on his first documentary, "Burzynski", which received widespread distribution and garnered numerous international awards, including "Best Documentary of 2011" on The Documentary Channel, two "Audience Awards" at the HumanDoc Film Festival in Warsaw, and the "Humanitarian Vision Award" at the Newport Beach Film Festival. The film also received favorable reviews from prominent press outlets, such as The Los Angeles Times and Variety, and led to Eric's guest appearance on The Dr. Oz Show.
Eric has since released a sequel to "Burzynski", titled "Burzynski: Cancer Is Serious Business, Part II", in 2013. The film achieved global distribution and won the top Audience Award for Best Documentary at the Sedona Film Festival on March 2, 2014. While working on the sequel, Eric was also producing and directing his third documentary, "Second Opinion: Laetrile At Sloan-Kettering", which was released in theaters across the USA in 2014.
Eric's subsequent documentaries include "The God Cells: A Fetal Stem Cell Journey", released in 2017, "The Andorra Hustle", released in 2020, and his upcoming sixth documentary, "Ukraine: Fetal Stem Cell Pioneers", set to be released in 2023.
