Elizabeth Kemp is a highly accomplished actress, director, and set designer who has made a significant impact in the world of theatre, film, and television. With a career spanning over four decades, she has worked extensively on and off Broadway, as well as in regional theatres and television.
On Broadway, she has appeared in a number of notable productions, including "Once in a Lifetime" at Circle in the Square, "North Shore Fish" at WPA, and "Heat" at the Public Theatre. She was also part of the original cast of "The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas", which premiered at The Actors Studio.
Throughout her career, Elizabeth has had the privilege of working with some of the most renowned actors and directors in the industry. She has shared the stage with the likes of Christopher Reeve, Tom Hanks, and Kevin Kline, and has worked closely with the legendary Tennessee Williams.
In addition to her work on stage, Elizabeth has also made a name for herself in film and television. Her film credits include "Sisters" (2007),"Eating" (1990),"The Clairvoyant" (1982),"Murderous Vision" (1991),"Animal Room" (1995),and "Challenger" (1990). On television, she has appeared in numerous long-running and guest-starring roles, including a notable stint on the popular series "L.A. Law", for which she received a GLAAD Award.
As a director and set designer, Elizabeth has worked on a number of productions in Paris, Stockholm, and Rome, as well as at The Actors Studio and UBU Rep. She has also designed sets for productions of "The Glass Menagerie" and "Four to Four".
Elizabeth is a long-time member of The Actors Studio, where she has starred in and designed sets for productions of "The Wound of Love" and "Elektra". She has also been a member of the Acting Faculty of The Actors Studio MFA Program since its inaugural year and serves on the Board of Directors of the Actors Studio.
