Edmund Moeschke

Edmund Moeschke, a non-professional actor, starred in Roberto Rossellini's Germany Year Zero (1948),a film that etched his name in the annals of cinematic history. As the young Edmund Köhler, Moeschke brought to life a character facing numerous life challenges in post-WWII Germany, captivating audiences worldwide with his dramatic acting. His performance earned him recognition from critics and film enthusiasts, who were drawn to the authenticity and vulnerability he brought to the character. Germany Year Zero was part of Rossellini's Neo-Realistic movement, which featured amateur actors to create a more realistic narrative.
