Alexander Nevsky was born in Moscow, Russia, and later went on to pursue higher education at the Russian State University of Management. He further honed his skills by learning English at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA),and studying acting at the Lee Strasberg Theater Institute in Los Angeles.
In addition to his academic and artistic pursuits, Nevsky is a former amateur boxer and bodybuilder, having won the Mister Universe title three times at the World Bodybuilding Federation (WBF) and World Fitness Federation. He is a strong advocate for natural, drug-free bodybuilding and has authored nine successful books and over 500 articles on fitness and related topics, which have been published in Russia and the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS).
Nevsky is a well-established movie star and household name in his home country, having starred in the popular TV show "Self Made Man" on Channel One Russia, which attracted an audience of approximately 20 million viewers per week in the 1990s. He has been featured in numerous publications, including The Hollywood Reporter Russia, Men's Health Russia, GQ Russia, and Playboy Russia, among others.
Nevsky's film credits include appearances in notable Hollywood productions such as Walter Hill's "Undisputed" and Sofia Coppola's "Somewhere". He has also ventured into producing, having produced seven international action films to date, including "Moscow Heat", "Treasure Raiders", "Magic Man", and "Showdown in Manila", among others.
Nevsky made his directorial debut with the action thriller "Black Rose", which was a commercial success in Russia and CIS, and was released in North America by ITN/eOne/Sony in May 2017. His upcoming projects include the big-budget action comedy "Maximum Impact", directed by Andrzej Bartkowiak (DOOM) and written by Ross LaManna (Rush Hour).
As an active member of the Hollywood Foreign Press Association (HFPA),Nevsky has been voting for the Golden Globe Awards since 2003. His production company, Hollywood Storm, is based in Los Angeles, California.
